Dongdaemun Design Plaza

Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) is a blend of traditional buildings, relics and cutting-edge modern multicultural facilities. Seoul Fortress, Igansumun Water Gate (floodgate channeling water from Namsan Mountain to Cheonggyecheon Stream and Seoul Fortress), Dongdaemun History Hall, the Dongdaemun Excavation Site, Dongdaemun Sports Memorial Hall, Event Hall, and Design Gallery can all be found at the DDP. In addition, the DDP brings together fashion lovers through the annual Seoul Fashion Week and showcases exhibitions that combine emotions and trends. Moreover, the DDP has become a platform through which designers, overflowing with talent, skills, and creative ideas, communicate with the world. Last year, the DDP was included on the New York Times’ list of “52 Places to Go in 2015.”

Gwangjang Market

The Gwangjang Market is the nation’s first market and continues to thrive as a popular tourist destination today. The second floor of the market provides all of your silk satinm linen bed-sheet stores, which are the largest and most famous in Seoul. Even though the goods are not brand-name products, the wide selection of high quality goods at inexpensive prices makes it an enjoyable shopping experience.

Samsung Dlight

Located within the Samsung Electronics building in Seoul, ‘Samsung d’light’ is a global exhibition space that showcases the latest product lineup by Samsung Electronics. The name d’light combines the words ‘digital’ and ‘light’ to correlate with the company’s vision of being ‘a guiding light to the digital world’ and sharing the excitement and delight of digital technology through interaction with visitors.

Lotte World Tower & Lotte World Mall

The conceptual design called for a slender cone with convex, gently curved sides, drawing inspiration from Korean ceramics and Korean writing brushes. The 6th tallest building in the world when completed, this skyscraper will be 123 floors, standing at 556 meters (1,824 ft). The tower will contain a gallery, cafes, a luxury hotel, a Skywalk and an observation deck. Lotte World Mall is located next to the tower, and features Aveunuel, a complex of luxury department stores and duty free shops. The multi-leveled mall has attracting visitors as one of the top shopping attractions in Seoul, with a variety of domestic and foreign brands. On the fifth level, there is a replica of 1930s Jongno Street, as well as a representation of 1950s Myeong-dong on the sixth floor. It also offers a wide-range of entertainment, such as a movie theater, an aquarium, and more.

JSA Tour

Heightened tension around the area, JSA Tour
A Heavily secured area where no one can visit without a special permit, even Koreans cannot easily go. It is one hour away from Seoul. You can enjoy a historic tour taking you back into the mist of a fascinating history of Korea. Participants of the Post-Forum tour will be on a first-come-first-serve basis. Registration must be done through ASF2015 Secretariat only.
